Hi Everyone
Starting tomorrow I will be beginning my new healthier lifestyle in the hope to not only shed a few pounds but to also be healthier.
The main reason I have decided to do this is because I recently spoke to my family doctor and we talked about my family’s medical history which isn’t so great and includes things like: Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Dementia and that is naming just a few. I really, really want to do everything possible to avoid getting these diseases so its time for a change.
First thing I am going to do is cut out all the chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks. All those snacks I eat because I cant be bothered to prepare a proper meal or the things I snack in between meals. I am going to make sure that there is a selection of fresh fruit and veggies available to munch on instead.
I am changing my portion sizes as well. My doctor said it was human instinct to fill the plate with food so instead I am cutting down on everything apart from the vegetables.
I am also cutting out fizzy/soft drinks - to be replaced with water and sometimes even the lightly flavoured water.
I need lots more exercise as well. So I plan to start walking my dogs a lot more instead of the 20 minute walk they get in the morning I am going to get up earlier and take them to our local park for a long walk. I also have a step machine at home that has been gathering dust so that will also get used more
Finally because I love to dance I have purchased the Zumba workout which looks like a lot of fun and also a good work out as well. Also once I get my Nintendo Wii working I want to get the dancing games for that as well.
I am one of those people who’s full of good intentions towards dieting and exercise but I have a tough time sticking to it. I can get easily bored and distracted so I am trying to make this more fun.
Any suggestion or tips would be greatly appreciated or is there anyone who wants to do it with me and we can support each other
Let me know
Emma
